الفرق بين الدراسة والبحث
Is there a difference between studying and research? In my view, the difference between them is the same as the difference between discovery and invention. Discovery means uncovering what we already know exists but want to access, while invention is accessing what we didn't know existed at all. Newton didn't invent the law of gravity, but he discovered it; gravity has existed since God created the earth and everything on it. However, humankind invented the rocket, controlling and manipulating that gravity. The solar cell was invented to convert sunlight into electrical energy. It's worth noting that this photovoltaic cell is fundamentally based on the discovery that photons of light are converted into an electric current. This means that study leads us to facts from data we already know exists, but we organize and structure it, examining it from multiple perspectives to arrive at a new framework and a different understanding of what already exists. Research, on the other hand, is based on using the information and knowledge available in human thought, which everyone knows, and formulating specific hypotheses and methods to verify those hypotheses. This leads to new knowledge, more precise theories, and solutions to life's problems that plague humanity, or new mechanisms that improve human performance and serve human life and its future. And perhaps I should tell you truthfully that most of what we do is nothing more than studies, not research... In our Arab region, unfortunately, we consume knowledge (we only study it) and do not produce it (we don't research it and investigate it).
